185s idle problems

I just rebuilt the carb on a 185s I recently got, it will run, but once it starts it will rev up to very high RPM. My throttle cable appears to be fine, I've tried the 2 turns out for the carb setting and played around with my idle speed screw on the side but no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

Check your intake boot for leaks and make sure the slide is fully seating when the throttle is closed

I checked both, but it still idles at high rpms, I have been pulling the plug out wet with gas also.

You are postive the slide isn’t backwards? The slide can go in two ways and only one is correct.

Yes, I made sure the pin is lined up on the side so that it goes all the way in properly.

Then I am Witt shortline. You likely have an air leak somewhere in your intake system.
