If its what you WANT then you need no justification or explanations. BUT you might have an easier go just building a 200x. Find a project frame and go from there.
If the auto clutch of the 185/200 is what youre after, its a nonissue to make that work.
Actually, i can see the value of such a build. If i hadnt put so much in this 200es im restoring for my wife, i would be inclined to do just that.
Nice cushy ride, exponentially better handling and the ease of control for her not dealing with a manual clutch.
I was born and raised on Venus & I may be here a while.....

Gabriel, you could still build an AutoX in the future. They aren't hard to build and they are very fun, capable machines.

I've got a 1984 roller frame to build as another AutoX and I have a 1985 that I picked up in boxes that I will keep as a 200X just so I can have one with a manual clutch.

I also just noticed that your 200X is a 1986. Those second gen 200X's are hard to find parts for and kind of pricey. I wouldn't want one unless it's in pretty good shape and then I'd just pay the high initial price. I'd also be VERY careful not to tear it up.

Oh I am, all it really needs is plastics and an 86 seat pan.
I wouldn't have gotten it but i looked them up before hand and I figured I could part it out and make some money if i couldn't get it running right.
