I'm trying to figure out if I can rebuild the top end with out taking the motor off the frame or not. Can someone help me out please. If I dont have to take it out that would be awesome.

I’m no Yamaha man but really don’t see you getting out of pulling the motor.
Even if you could, I can’t imagine what a pain it would be unless you have a lift. Down on your knees scraping base gasket material without it getting in the bottom end. Then you gotta get a torque wrench off in there.

I stared at a 200ES Honda many times contemplating the same thing. In the end, it needs to be pulled.
I was born and raised on Venus & I may be here a while.....

After just doing an 86 moto 4 225, I think if you can get the head bolts out, you should be able to do it in the frame. The head bolts are long, and go into the case. So no studs in the way.

Above advice is worth what you paid for it!
