Idle question.

Hey guys. I have a 1985 200S. It is in amazing shape, starts right up, runs good but has an odd idle quirk. It idles fine but then about every 5 seconds it sorta hics or pauses for a fraction of a second and then continues to idle along okay. Any ideas what that is?

Very common issue on the 200s model , Honda put a 35 pilot jet in the carburetor and its to small , install a #40 pilet jet and fine tune the air fuel screw and the hiccup will be gone .

Would this apply to the other 200 models as well or was it just the S?

If it uses the 35 pilot jet then yes , Most 200 models use a 38 which is ok and in most cases a fine tune with the air fuel screw takes care of the hiccup .
