    Chinese Engine, 110 Replacement Engine,

I have a Honda 110 with Hi Low range it hasn’t ran in many many years, I found this Engine while looking at parts to fix it

    https://www.motopartsmax.com/index.p...4aAuRKEALw_wcB

A Engine brand new for $250 seems like too good of a deal not to replace the old one but I’m worried about mounting points, setting up the electric start, and losing Hi Low range function. Has anyone bought this Engine, or have any other kind of insight?

Reverse engineered Chinese engines are just that. There is no way that they tested the fit or operation of that engine in every application. If you have an extra $250 laying around, try it out. I'm not sure I would take the risk. Having said that, though, I have one of the eBay Chinese carbs on my 200X. It is pretty close to the original, and after a jetting change and some tuning, it works pretty well. It isn't the engine and transmission though. Just my opinion, which may or may not mean anything.

Yeah all that is part of my skepticism, I’m also running one of those $19 knock off carbs on a 185s and it runs great

Do you have a grinder and a welder handy when it don't fit?

Not sure if i would try it or not. I'd have to ponder it. I would exhaust my search options looking for a real 110 Honda first and rebuild that sucker. SURELY someone around here has one.

most of the engines on lifans website have mounting hole location dimensions. I highly feel they are way off. I work in casting and there are good ways to make a spot on part now days which would = a dead on copy. If anything they are just not using high quality aluminum. Is stuff 319F, 356F T4 T5 T6 T51? who knows. Its prob low grade aluminum castings with 80% correct gating and rigging. Most likely none of the castings are done on in core-boxes or wooden plate vs CNC aluminum plates.

If your lost by anything I said the least of your worries is if somthings going to fit. How long will it last, maybe 5 years or so? I'd just rather buy Jap motors wasted build up correctly and be done with it. Any Jap bike with a Lifan motor is going to hold 0 resale.

Won’t fit , starter on top won’t clear also the motor mounts are based on the atc70 style motor mounts and they are definitely different than a 110 .

I have a china 110 engine in an atc 70. It bolted right in. So I can conferm that. And the starter on top does cause issues.

These motors are excellent. Shortline it is the 90s and 110 atcs that need an adapter, these motors will bolt right in like bob says. Any doubts in chinese built motors are unfounded. It's the electronics that are sub par.

This chinese engine ran perfect for 1300 miles over 5 days through the desert and mountains, and another thousand past that before i sold it running like new. Click image for larger version.
