I never watch or listen to the news so thanks for the info, quite unfortunate, but at least he lived much longer than many in that business.
He used to play at the annual Huntington Beach Surf Music Festival, and had a house on the end of the jetty in Balboa. The amplifier shown in the beginning of the video is basically the same one I have. It is around a 1964 Fender Bandmaster.
