I have an 02 CR250 and absolutely love it. 07's are hard to find, wish I could have one! I bought this bike close to stock and have added a lot of parts to increase the performance. The PC pipe and Lectron carb are by far my favorite mods.

Apickering975, that's cool! That was the last year for the reed to jug motor....I think. I had an 03 and loved it. But I noticed that this 07 does lack the power the traditional way does. 03 to 07 cr's have the case to reed style. There not bad though just not as good as the original style. I've been debating to put an electron carb or the airstriker on it. I've seen pros and cons to the electron. Some people love them and some don't, I haven't seen any in between reviews. But the guys who like them really like them alot. I'm probably leaning towards the airstriker cause I know there fail proof but either way. Thanks for sharing

The last generation of CRs was actually 02-07 so I do have the case reed motor. These motors are great but their larger than average crank case volumes take away from the bottom end power a bit. Tons of top end though. With the right mods you can get power all the way through. People also say the electronic power valve takes away from the bottom end but I haven't had any issues since I keep my power valves clean. Also, I love that I don't have to mess with jetting on the Lectron carb. The Mikuni is a good carb but I was changing jets more than I liked.

Been Lectron dreaming since deciding I’ll probably never own a 2 stroke fuelie. What range of altitudes do you ride in and what was set up like?

I ride in an area that's about 700' above sea level. My 02 CR250 has the Lectron carb, full Pro Circuit pipe (shorty), 10 oz flywheel weight, Boyesen reeds, and I run VP 110 race fuel.

Got ya. I can go from 1,400’ to 10,000’ in less than 3 hours here. Usually I’m jetted lean and just open and close my air screw as we rise and fall, but other than a few minutes around 6,000’ I’m either rich or lean. I can live with the way it runs, but if I could add 20 or so miles to my range it would be worth the money just for that.

Yes it is the 02 my bad. Well you guys have me convinced on the lectron carb. I too don't like rejetting all the time. I'd like to know what some of the guys are doing wrong to not like the lectron carbs. In your case you haven't had any problems. That's good to hear.

The fuel usage was another reason I switched to the Lectron. When I was running my bike with the Mikuni TMX carb it ran good, but even when jetted properly it would suck down fuel. The Lectron uses much less fuel and it has saved me a lot of money, especially since I run race fuel.

Yea they do! The ones for the ATC 250r's are $385 and the one for my CR250 was $450. It was a little more than I wanted to pay for a carb but if you're gonna keep the bike for a long time its definitely worth it.
