    Piston wrist pin plugs

Tore into a 90 motor we picked up, pulled the top end, found a sleeved cylinder and the Piston had plugs in the wrist pin holes instead of clips. What brand of Piston is this?

Teflon plugs were pretty popular for air cooled VW builders back in the day too. Seen them in those engines more than once.
Oiled teflon would last a very long time so it's not a bad idea. Certainly easier to assemble than those GD ring clips.

Teflon plugs can be used in pretty much any 4 stroke piston, you just need to get the right diameter and length.

They are (were?) popular for drag bike engines that had to be torn down often, but they can leave a residue on the cylinder that some people feel affects ring sealing, so they aren’t as popular for engines that aren’t opened up a lot.

Another one for Powroll using them, my old mans Powroll’d XL250 uses them.

    I like learning something new..
So this thing had a +6 oversized piston, had been resleeved obviousley. Had a hi/lo delete case, a ported head espessially the exhaust port (oops), had a stock cam and stock crank. Was hoping for a stroker beings whoever did the work had to split the cases for the delete case half. We have not tore the head apart to evaluate for heavy duty springs. The thing had no compression, fluid running out the exhaust port.. At this point we are hoping the piston, rings and cylinder are all within specs, fix the head and leave it be.
