I have a 85 250es with a bad diff housing. Will just the diff housing work from a 86 trx250? I know the other swinger parts are different but just the housings look the same.

Trikes: Cagiva 200, 85? Tiger 250,(2)84 200x's , (3)86 200x's, 87 200x, (5)85 350x's, (2)86 350x's, (2)85 250r's, 86 Tecate, (3) 85 250sx's Restoring: 83 200x, 86 250sx. Too many utility trikes to list.

The housing is different on the 85 model , 86/87 big red and 86+Trx250 are the same .
The 85 model had a different seal lip area .
All that being said I have swapped them over , just a little grinding and massaging in

I have an 85 ATC250SX diff housing. I know as a whole unit they interchange, but I'm unsure if the 250es gear set will fit the 250sx housing. I have the SX gear set too, the center hub for the ring gear needs to be swapped out with a good one as the splines that interfaces with the axle are worn out.
