Just bought my 7th 3 Wheeler -- 1985 Big Red -- Minor Engine Noise

I just bought my 7th 3 Wheeler -- my second 1985 Big Red. This one is a little ruff, but the engine looks very good externally -- it looks new. No leaks anywhere.

Engine has excellent power, and tranny shifts better than any other I've had. Only issue is that the engine gets really noisy when RPM's get high -- maybe the chain is making noise, but I can't really tell.

One clue, maybe -- the oil was really dirty. I changed it, but this didn't make any difference. I may need to change it again -- the new oils already looks dirty almost immediately.

    Thanks.

What is the noise exactly? Like knocking , ticking? I don't think I've ever owned a honda 3 wheeler that didn't make valve clatter at higher rpms. And I've owned lots. Generally in my experience, timing chain clatter and knocks are more audable at lower rpms as you accelerate.
