    Seat Lock Lever 125M

    Hi, I am new to 3 wheeler world. Thanks for the add and I just got back into the 3 wheeler market, after years of not owning one. I picked up a 1985: 125 M.

    At any rate, the seat lock lever was missing. Picked up one on e bay, and trying to install it. How in the world do I get into the tunnel to hook up the spring and clip? It is a major operation? Kinda seems like it.

    The other question: Is there a way to completely take the front drum brake off the front axle? I just see this as potential problems and the front brake is better removed in my opinion.

    You could do a front brake delete, but I wouldn't understand why go through all the effort of machining a spacer to remove the brake backing plate. Besides that, sometimes rear brakes aren't enough on their own, and the front brake can be used to stop quicker (tires only have so much traction). Motorcycles, Bicycles, cars, atvs, etc have front brakes, I don't get what's so bad about them? It's not like you should be trying to lock the front brake up on any machine, and the primary brake I'd say is more the rear brakes. In a car it's 60% front, 40% rear typically as the physics works better for the front brakes while braking.

    If you really don't want front brakes, just disconnect the cable and remove the lever, easiest solution I can think of.

    Photos probably would be more useful in your case, don't have a 125m handy for photos, but a US90 has a similar setup. I see what you mean by getting into the tunnel. You'll probably have to drop the engine out of the frame to install. Dropping the engine out is super easy for these models vs other's, remove the chain, unplug electrical, and pull the 3-4 engine bolts and it slips right down.
