    1986 250r Jetting question

I'm looking for jetting advice on a 86 250r with 38mm air striker carb, fmf fatty pipe, fmf power power core 2 silencer, cool head, esr reeds and uni air filter in oem airbox. Its current jet set up, which I don't know off hand, isn't allowing the bike to hit the powerband. The throttle flattens out. Please help! Thanks!!

I'm assuming you have a high compression dome in your cool head? If so, you'll most likely need to tighten up your sparkplug gap a tad over the stock setting, due to the higher compression from the cool head. Try setting the gap @ .018"

I would need to know your current jet sizes and needle clip position to make a reasonable attempt. Also need to know the current temperature.

It has a 22cc dome. Current temperature is 40-50f in ny area. I'm starting from scratch so what jets should I start with and I will put the needle clip where you suggest.

Try 50 pilot, 168 main, needle clip 3rd from top. Air screw 1.5 turns out from seated.

Thanks guys the bike started right up and sounds awesome!!! But I can still use a little help. If I roll into the throttle it pulls like crazy all the way to redline but if I'm cruising along and snap the throttle it breaks up. What is my next step?

Raise your needle clip to second from top and see if it runs more crisp.

Did you try closing your spark plug gap like previously suggested ?
