Hey Guys, I messed up, can it be saved?

I have a 1984 honda 200es, but I bought 1984 84 HONDA ATC 200S 185S OEM FRONT FORKS SHOCKS mistake on ebay ( may be from one of you, lol).
As far as I can tell the axle bolt is a different thread. otherwise they seem to be interchangeable.
So the question is, can I drill though the threads on the 200s forks, and install them on my 200es?

    Thanks
    MrC.

Your es is axle is wide enough with the wheel centered? What are you going to do for the other side?

I'm just thinking out loud here. I was hoping the axle was long enough if I drilled out the threads I could put the factory nut back on it.
other issue is the top mount, I just realized the 200es a bolt passes through the shock, where as the 200s goes beside it in a detent.
so now it looks like I would have to get the triple trees for 200s.
I think that seals the deal.

They're totally different, you can make 200M forks work on a Big Red fairly easily (except for the rack mounting) but you're correct, the ones you bought would require at least the triple trees as well.

    Thanks guys,
I contacted the seller and he said he would gladly take them back ( thanks, if your watching)
The next owner can replace them if they want.
    Thanks again
