Exclamation New 36mm carb usable on a stock 83 250R?

So I just bought a new carb on ebay saying that it would work on the bike then saw that the 83-84 R's came stock with a 30mm

Not sure I can cancel/return the item.

My R is stock aside from a K&N air filter, will this carb work at all or am I screwed?

    Thanks

You will most likely need a new carb intake boot, but folks boil the stock one and get them to stretch. Might need to rejet. Please post up a link to the ebay item you bought

Probably real similar to the China carb I ordered for my '83 R about a month ago. From what I've heard, they're alright after you change the jets out with factory Keihin ones. I picked up the Mossbarger intake, Motion Pro cable and jets already but still waiting for the slow boat to come over so I don't have any feedback to share with you yet. I wish I would've cancelled mine and ordered a genuine Keihin now cuz the waiting game is killing me!

Thankfully I was still able to cancel it. Looks like I will just buy the rebuild kit and use the original.

The way the carb is now seems to run a bit rich and the needle is in the top position.

Maybe the Jets are just worn.

You can buy them from Sudco; I got mine through Jets R Us.
