    Corona-Trikes

So the day our state got shut down (March 20, 2020) I decided that since I was stuck at home, I might as well put my time to good use. I had been sitting on a very poor condition, yet in my eyes a real gem of a trike. I started with a plan of "retro-modding" it. Once I finished it, I had to go pick up another carcass of a trike that I bought last year that I still had not picked up. The pictures will really tell the story, but what I ended up with is "Covid-1" and "Covid-2" - 1 being a 1985 ATC200S and 2 being a 1984 ATC200S. I will try to put these in order as best I can. Enjoy!

Both bikes got exhausts and custom disc brake upgrades. They sound great. The 85 has a Big Al's chrome head pipe with a slip on pit mike muffler. The 84 has a full Supertrapp. The disc brakes make everything easier. They use 300EX / 400EX calipers and Chinese scooter left hand brake rezi. They both got white Maier plastics, OEM tanks and Hi Flight seats and pads. They are both pretty bitchin rides honestly

You need to stop putting “TLC” in the CList search box, lol! Knowing you Im positive these finished machines finest day are soon to be seen. Yeah babe that’ll clean right up, did you see that gallon of Blaster I had laying over here? With a pat on the back my thoughts are Your the Man for the job. The campfire stories you could spin on drilling and tapping frame bolts and stuck nuts....how’s about Ratchets ruined with pipe handle extension cause the Impact didn’t budge at 220psi. Don’t leave out the good stuff I’d hate miss a lifetime guarantee return tool guy story. Don’t slip a wrench keep on spinning em

Thanks guys. As far as more details, I could write you a novel about stuck bolts! Oddly enough, no broken bolts on either of these bikes. I did paint the frames. I'd rather powder coat, but again, Corona-Trikes = nothing open! The pick-up cover (some call it a CDI cover, because the OEM had "CDI" cast into it) was made by Rob Dierdorfer aka Wicked Metal. Before disassembling, I spray every nut and bolt down with WD-40 a few times a day for a few days. It helps a lot. Once bolts are removed, they all go into Evaporust. That stuff is amazing! Between my map gas and 1/2" impact - nothing was too much of a chore. I added some before and after motor pics. I have a new method of "no touch" cleaning. I use Rustoleum rust resolver gel. I applied 3 times, letting it set 1 - 2 hours each application, them pressure washing. The stuff looks like snot, or semen when applied, - but man does it clean up aluminum nicely. The front wheels are the ones I sell. The rears are 8X8 ITP with a 3/5 offset. By using these rear wheels and 300EX/400EX/450R rear hubs, I gain about 3.5" width. Both of these bikes have 20" tires. The knobbies are sized 20X7-8 and the Duros are 20X9.5-8. Rear sprockets are 35 tooth on both machines.

Wow Tim, just wow! Those are works of art for sure. And to think you did all that in so short of time, amazing! I was digging the bubba tow cable, must have worked in the construction or forestry business, lol. But hey, it worked

Those really turned out great Tim. I love the white plastics, they really tie the room together. Typically, I dont like different colored tanks but it works well on these. You have Rob D confused with another Rob, this Rob's company is Hostile Racing. Here's a link to the site for anyone interested.

Thanks Joe - you are correct. It is Hostile that made the "CDI" cover. My bad.

So everyone knows, my brother and I got new 1985 ATC200Ss for Christmas in 1984 - my goodness - best Christmas ever! I have a very special spot in my heart for the 200S - especially the 85 models. Here is my collection to date - I do not share this photo much and will not put it on Fecesbook - but I will share it here - again, thanks for the compliments guys!
