    YTM crankshaft bearing removal

Hello, have a 84 YTM that I would like to put new crankshaft bearings on. According to a manual it says that if there were to be any damage to the cam chain sprocket that the half of the crankshaft its on would need to be replaced. Can I not press this gear off the crank to replace the bearing? I guess I might not be seeing a reason as to why it wouldn't press off. Any input would be great, Thanks!

I would think it should be doable , just not recommended by the dealer .
    Give it a try .
That side of the crankshaft is sold as one piece with the bearing and sprocket .

I’d add this that that if you’re going to press it apart you should scratch 3 witnesses lines across whatever your pressing apart and spot weld the gear in place when you reassemble it.
