Looking for people with a boneyard...

I'm having a hellofatime finding a few parts for a 84 200s that I found. The main one I need is a recoil starter and cover. I also need a thumb throttle and cable and a carb, but I can find those after market if I can't get them OEM. The recoil and cover I can't find anywhere though.

If any of you haveany of these things you can live without let me know, either here or PM. Will need to be shipped to Michigan but we can work that out.

    Thanks in advance guys.

Get ready to pay. Look on Ebay at 'running' engines for sale and see how many of those are lacking the recoil starter. That's because they can sell that separate and make about as much.

I have some and ain't no way I'm turning them loose. I couldn't afford to replace them.

    Good luck though.

You can try EMC (Eastern Michigan Cycle Salvage) in Yale, MI. They have a pretty good trike inventory and may have what you need.

Yep , if you want one that bad their not cheap .
I used to keep a few reconditioned 185/200 recoils in stock and sell them at 100 each , same with seat pans and fuel tanks .
Now you can’t even find a rebuildable housing for that lol .
I do still have a few new old stock ones in the original box but I hold on to those for restorations or deep pockets lol .

Maybe I can help. I found a pull start cover minus the guts in my parts stash the other day. Now the thing is that I "THINK" it's for an 200 ATC but not 100% sure. Would that get you any further along if you can find the guts? If interested I'll take a fair price and send it down your way plus shipping.

That one is definitely not for a 200s possibility for a 200sx or 84 200es

    Ebay is expensive.
You may be better off buying a junk parts bike that has one on it.
then at least that way you could start your own boneyard.

I have one spare, sorry couldn't part with it.

do people actually pay the crazy ebay prices for recoils? never knew I was sitting on a small gold mine. I remember crying when I picked up a 110atc and had to buy a recoil off a guy for 50 bucks. jim

That recoil Coolpool has is either a 200E, ES, or M. Its very different than the 185 or 200 non electric start models. Maybe you can find a way to barter the housing for parts that will fit yours.

Years ago I scored a good 200M recoil for $50 on kijiji, traded straighy across to a guy for a good 185/200 3 dog recoil that he usually sells for 135. Kaching.

Have a 2nd spare I snagged for 80, complete but needs rewound. Likely won't find a working one under 100 but if you keep yours eyes peeled you may get a deal somewhere
