    Honda atc 200 piston sizing

    Rebuilding a 1981
    Honda 200
    I would like to put a bigger piston in to give it more power to wheelie. What's the biggest I would want to go without pulling my old arm out of the socket while starting it ?
    our original 85 we bought new, 2 - 86 police specials
    250r dust runner
    04 Yamaha kodiaK 450 snowbuster ! Brute Force 750 dust collector .

    I think compression ratio has more to do with the hard pulling than the bore size does. From what I've seen people say, they seem to have problems with the pull rope breaking over about 10:1 or so.

    from what I have read the stock piston has a 7.8 to 1 compression ratio...surely a 10.25 to 1 would pull my arm outta the socket.

    Use the compression release and it won't be an issue. I will say if you go over 11:1 (which is pretty high honestly) it gets pretty hard. But most people don't have an issue with 10.25:1 at all using the decomp
