The 2nd gen forks are almost identical. They are about 19mm's longer and the valve caps are aluminum. You can run either set of forks on either generation 200X.
I've seen a few guys ad inverts, most say that's overkill. I run a set of 350X forks with emulators and a Works shock in the rear that was about 900$.
New springs for your weight and fresh heavier weight oil and a seal change will help out quite a bit.
