Hey guys, just re-started a "build" of my 1980 Honda 110.
Before life got in the way a few years ago.. the stock motor lost all compression and I half swapped in a lifan 125. Biggest hurdle to finish the swap is notching the frame to clear an intake manifold then bracing the frame back up.
Going for a bit of a race vibe with the thing... 20x7 tire up front, 18x9.5 in the rear w/400ex hubs (heard they're wider), mid rise bars on 3" risers, red/white/blue/gold color scheme, trim the plastics into a sportier shape... you get the idea.
The trikes had a hard life, clearly... I'm probably the 12th owner lol and the one that'll take best care of it. Looking forward to fixing it up and hooning around!
Thanks for having me. Don't feel bad about the eventual cutting of the plastics either.. they're clapped out.

Thanks! My main inspiration for joining i suppose is just getting info out there on how to swap the Chinese motors into a 110.. all I've ever been able to find is how to swap a China motor into a 70.. way easier! Doesn't require hacking and welding the frame lol thats probably why.
Even though my fabrication skills are more akin to fabri-cobbling, it'll give a much better idea on whats needed, hopefully it helps someone out in the future.

If you do a search on this site their are several builds identical to what your doing , dratv.com use to sell the motor mount kit to do the swap .

I definitely missed those threads somehow, I really did a lot of research before I started and didn't come up with much. Oh well, it's "simple enough". Hoping to be able to unload it for a decent price and start building a 200x when its done

Previous owner was too lazy to go to the hardware store for a front axle nut, and had at some point welded the axle on one side to the forks... so spent a couple minutes today starting to fix that.

No time to work on the forks today as I only had a couple minutes but the "controls" portion of the build is more or less done, just need to get some risers.

Too poor to paint, too proud to whitewash.
I'd just be happy it wasn't the sprocket (don't know if that's possible on a 110) or gear shifter.
If you had a spare 110 seat pan in useable condition, I'd trade you a 110 fork, front hub, and axle and pay shipping for those parts and the seat pan. Long shot, but needing another seat pan for mine is going to be a pain in the rear.

I came back to mention, if you're going for 1 1/8 adapters for those fat bars, you can get something like Rox Risers.
They are available in various heights and allow you to adjust the handlebars forward and aft. They even have rubber mounted versions to cut down on vibration. They're expensive, but I wanted to throw that out there if you didn't know about them.
A previous owner was also apparently too lazy to get nuts for the rear hubs, because they're also welded on -_- oh well.
Of all the paint I've wire-wheeled off of things, 40 year old Honda paint comes off the easiest. Got a decent amount done before the battery in my drill died and I decided I was done for the day. I also got the fork leg where the axle was welded back to 90% and cut off the headlight tabs as I'm gonna put a number plate in its place. Forgot to take a picture of the fork leg, ill have to remember tomorrow.

no extra seat pan unfortunately sorry!
As for the risers, I'm going with the Chinese rox knockoffs in 2". I can be a cheapo sometimes, but the biggest selling point for the ripoff risers is I can get them in blue to match the new seat cover.

Got the rest of the forks wire-wheeled down and got 3 coats of primer on (not primed in photo).
After I got the first coat on I realized that I had forgotten to remove the race for the steering bearings, definitely wanted to do that before primer.. oh well.. I dont think it'll be too big of a pain in the butt to get off. A quick pry on it with a flathead got it to budge a surprising amount the other day.
