Solar Car Vent Fan
I've tried something similar to one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Solar-auto-co.../dp/B00F3DW07U
They work, but are inconvenient and compromise security.
Recently, I got to resealing the kick panel vents in my '79 F150, because they were very drafty during the winter.
At the same time, I decided to to add a solar powered fan to circulate air during the summer.
The fan I used was a smidge too large to fit inside the vent, so I used some JB Plastic Weld to hold it in.
This stuff has proved to be a very reliable plastic bond. How well it'll hold up in this situation...we'll see.
I put the solar panel on the dash. It's not attached to anything but could be bound by some Velcro. This particular panel has a USB port for charging 5v things. The connector output is ~<15v, but ~12.75 with the load from the fan.
The pictures may be a little out of order, but the general concept should be understood.
During bright sun, this fan is very powerful. It can be heard from several feet outside of the truck. I haven't taken temperature readings yet, but I will during next summer. To shut off the fan, the panel is simply disconnected. The disconnected panel is also capable of charging 5v things, like cellular phones.
