    Actual Honda NOS or fake?

I recently purchased a brake handle perch for my 1984 ATC200es. It came in an opened original part bag. The component appears to be cast aluminum with some machining done after the fact. Does that sound like a NOS part? Was the original control hardware for early Honda’s made from aluminum?

I wouldn't be too worried about, looks fine to me from my untrained eye. Is there something else telling you it's not OEM? Did you try to install it yet?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, installed it and fits like new. Turns out the original parts were aluminum, too. Skeptical of some of the NOS parts - hard to believe they are still out there. Happy riding.
