    Old tires

    Hi,

Does anyone have any old tires from Cepeck or Carlisle from the 1980's? Mainly looking for Dirt Boss or Cepeck treads. I would love to see pictures.

Looks like the last tires that were around in the 1980's are being phased out now. Contacted Kenda & Carlisle and they are not making the Front Max 22x11-8 or Stryker 25x12-9 anymore; two tires I fondly remember and were available last year. Cheng Shin no longer makes the C826, C827 or C832 knobby anymore either.

The Trail Pro was probably the last hold-out, although they sucked but Walmart and tractor stores sold the zombie (everliving) crap out of them. Everything else like a ITP SPIDER TRAC were gone a long time ago, although you can still find them on EBay, if you want to pay a couple hundred each.

I hauled some Strykers to the dump a few months ago. They were crap tires when they were new and I didn't think there was a market for dry rotted ones that would require tubes.

Maybe Kenda's website hasn't been updated, but they still show the Front Max in a 22x11x8 size and there are new ones available on EBay for a reasonable price. I just put a new one on front of a 185S last year and FYI, it's actually a smidge lighter than the listed weight ,but still not a lightweight tire.

I think Carlisle currently has something similar to the Cheng Shin C826.

My personal favorite front tireis a BKT AT119. Looks like a turf tamer. Runs true to size, is 4 ply rated and provides good puncture resistance but not so stiff it will cause a rough ride. Only downside is the availability. Only can get from Pete's tire for $65 each.

ID:	266659you don’t find very many of either of these tires any more. The little cepeks were good when we were pulling the bikes when they had a Atv only tire class.

I still have a set of old school 10 inch rims for a 81R with what's left of the old Sand Tires Unlimited tires on them.

And I have a set of spider tracs on one of my 350x's that i'm still running. I think those tires were bullet proof.

I have always wanted to see those copeck atv tires. seen them in mid 80's ads. If you have a new old stock one of those I would buy it. I collect old discontinued tires
