how do I tell what carb I have?

my project 185s runs weird, I tried 2 china carbs, 1 runs a little better than the other. my other beater 185s ran the same with the China carb. I cleaned a original carb and that one runs good now. I've got a extra carb from maybe a 185 or 200s.

    it's got pressed pilot jet
the needle has a hook to hang off the float.

A press in pilot jet is probably a 1980 plain 185 carburetor
