Hey Jim How ya been?
I think its important to do your homework, you need to know the cost and true value of any project BEFORE you begin.
Its just smart business, I figure I have about 1800 in it, sell the extra engine for $400, then I could sell the entire machine for $2500 to $3500, and turn
a very healthy profit. This one was a quick turn around too, figure 6 weeks total time.
that's still sweet side money in this post covid time.

I wished trikes brought decent money around here. my 85 250r sold for 3500 and my 3 owner 350x sold for 3500 too. this 350x I'm working on now has a goki starter. it's tje only reason I bought the trike to hopefully save knee. I paid 1400 for it with a extra motor (no cam). hopefully will be done for under 2000 bucks, that's using the plastics that came with the trike. jim

Jim i would advise selling on ebay or at least be willing to ship. Post your next machine for sale on FB marketplace for a higher price and be willing to drive and meet (after a deposit) it could be worth 3k to you. Or try ebay, you will have to be willing to meet a shipper, or find a shipper and work with them. I would and have worked with shippers to sale a machine. The buyer is paying for a shipper so your only out a few hours of your time. I think selling on ebay or bring a trailer.com and be will to meet a shipper could net you thousands.

I should take your advice, but I'm throwing my 85 250r on craigslist and maybe usey wife's Facebook acct and put it on marketplace but at a higher price. went and played with it a bit this afternoon and now soaking my sore knee so it's gotta go

No sir, I have taken a few weeks off. I didn't plan on it but I have hurt my back and its taken longer than expected to bounce back. I initially took 2 weeks off from videos, to build a screened in porch and take care of some honey do's around the house that were way over do, well I over did it and now I'm kinda banged up .

I have several ideas I am working on and if things go well tomorrow I may have another holy grail to add to the collection.

Sorry to hear the 250r doesn't suit you, but I understand, If you cant enjoy it, you might as well pass it on, at least you stand to make a great profit for your time.
I have thinned my heard this week as well. the 250es big red is gone, it left before I could send it around the track and if things go well tomorrow the atc70 and wide axle 200x will be gone as well.

sometimes the honey doos has to take priorities. Glad to hear your on the mend. I have a bad habit of getting wrapped up in the cars, trikes, and stuff and ignore the house stuff until my wife puts her foot down. looking forward to more of your videos, I did post the 250r locally, if it doesn't sell, I'm going to keep fixing anything that's not right, it's such a iconic trike it deserves to be nice. jim

got a offer of 4k, was asking 5k and it's still the lowest price liquid cooled R around that's papered, and complete running. I told the guy I have to think about it. it's just such a nice trike, complete and not messed with. I'm sure I can't replace it for 4k anytime soon. jim

Hey jim, I know you don't want to ride it, but you can't build it for that or even replace it for that price. I would hold out for at least 5k local. but your market may be different than mine. I bet on ebay you could get 6k. just something to think about.

had a guy pick it up for 4200 this afternoon. probably cheap but he seems to be a hoarder too, hopefully it went to a good home and I made a few bucks! We're having a slab poured in a week so getting 30 years of junk moved, it helps to get rid of the trike. I've got 3 trikes I need to find room for. Really need to decide what to keep, what to sell, what to toss. jim

Thanks Patriot1, its not exactly 3 wheelers but you can apply the process to any chrome item including atc parts.
