    Valve adjustment issues

Hey guys (and gals, just in case). I checked valve clearance on my 85 250sx and found the clearance to be a bit tight, based on the instruction in the Oscar mayer manual. Set the timing mark to index mark as specified. Set both to .003 per manual, with a bit of wiggle room on the feeler. Video of the tapping sound i was rewarded with for not leaving well enough alone. I let it cool and the tightened up so more resistance was felt moving the feeler and it sounded a bit better, but not right still. Any advice? Please and thanks.http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/606531b5...331_174911.mp4

Are you sure it’s not a loose worn out timing chain that’s making the excessive noise your hearing ? Very common problem .

Sounded fine until I decided to try to fine tune the clearances. Thanks for responding.

are you certain it was a .003" and not a .030"? usually .003-.006 won't make any noise. Usually you want a steady drag on the feeler gage, but it's a feel thing. Double check after running it to make sure it didn't move.
