Question Tri Z rear shock (dumb question)

I'm looking to replace the rear shock on my new to me 85 Tri-z because its pretty bouncy.

I read that a warrior shock from any year will work.

So do I just need to buy a single front shock or do I need to replace my adjuster reservoir as well? If I buy a used one does my reservoir cable just connect to the "new" Shock?

I'm very confused, I don't know a thing about shocks.

Ok, but the whole assembly with reservoir or just the shock?

Please explain it like I'm 5.

I took it all appart to clean up he revalved it and put it together for me. He services a nation MX team...that should say it all. Plus he always say Hi aaron when I walk in.
