    Trikefest 2021 MX/TT EARLY SIGNUP

Trikefest Moto Cross/TT will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 at Haspin Acres in Laurel, IN.
Riders meeting/TECH CHECK at 1130, with racing to follow shortly.
The track will hopefully be open to practice all morning and hopefully all week prior to the race.

    There is no entry fee.
SIGN-UPS WILL CLOSE Thursday evening (June 24 at MIDNIGHT).
Advanced on-line sign up may be done in this thread and is encouraged.

As the time gets closer, I will post specific instructions as to where and when to find myself or another member to sign up at TrikeFest. Look for postings on (white board or chalkboard at TrikeFest) for more details.

Each class will only run once unless there are too many riders to run one race safely at which point that class may get spilt into 2 heats with top riders moving onto the main.

The 2-stroke classes listed are based more on rider ability than the machines. The intention is to place you on the track with other riders of similar skill level, for competitive and fun racing. If you have a question as to what class you belong in, please don't be afraid to ask.

As always, we will need volunteers to flag on jumps and corners. Please help out by flagging a few races if you can. Nobody wants to be out there all day, so the more people, the better.

Number of laps will be discussed and determined at the riders meeting. Weather and the length of the track will be two of the determining factors.
There are still 13 classes from which to choose.

This lineup is not a race order - merely a listing of all classes available for entry. We will make every attempt to ensure that you do not have to run back to back if you enter more than one class.

Unlimited Open Expert - No limitations on displacement or mods. Run what you brung. Expert riders with extensive MX experience ONLY!

2-Stroke Expert (A class) - Expert only class for vintage trikes. No inverts, no 450 conversions.

2-Stroke Advanced (B class) – Generally 250cc two-stroke riders with MX racing experience.

2-stroke Novice (C class) – Mostly 250cc two-stroke riders with little or no MX racing experience.

(^^^ if you won C class in a previous year, move up to B. If you won B class, move up to A)

350X class - Highly competitive and a blast to watch. Big bores and worked motors are permitted.

Mid Size Sport – 200X class. Big bores and worked motors are permitted.

Mid Size Utility - 250cc and under 4 stroke, or 175cc 2 stroke with front and rear suspension such as 250ES, 250SX, YTM225, etc

    Hard Tails (semi-suspended) – Front suspension only, such as 200S, 200M, YTM200, YT175, etc.

Unsuspended –Such as ATC70, 90, 110, YT60, YT125, ALT125, etc. Pitbike motors are permitted, suspension is NOT. Any common Lifan, Chinese, or other clutch pitbike motor (125, 140, 150cc or bigger is allowed).

Ladies Trike - Ladies of all ages on any size 3-wheeler.

Kids Trike – Kids up to 13 years old and up to 125cc.

Geriatric class – Age 40 and over on any size three-wheeler.

Conversion class - Dirtbike conversions, quad conversions, custom built 3-wheelers are all permitted.

    Rules for 2021
    1. Protective gear: Full face helmets are required for MX/TT. No sneakers or gym shoes if possible!

    2. Number plates or Numbers clearly set on fenders are required. Does not need to be fancy, but paper plates are not going to be permitted.

    3. NO ALCOHOL/DRUGS BEFORE THE RACES. If one of the guys helping, another racer or myself thinks you have been drinking/smoking you WILL NOT be permitted to run. We are here to have fun but save the celebrations for after the races.

There will be a 2 point tech inspection before MX.
I will try to set up a station set up near the track. I expect the tech inspection will take ~30 seconds to a minute.

    1. Checking all axle nuts for cotter pins. Split pins and slip pins work the best. Safety wire is acceptable - although not ideal. Please!! No bent over nails!!

    2. Working brakes– enough said.

3.Protective eyewear, long sleeves, long pants (you’ll want them), chest protector, riding boots, gloves, and tether kill switch are not yet required but are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Once each race is over I will have someone with a clip board to take down the top 3 names from each class. So make sure you know who to talk to when you finish!!
If in the event we have to run a class with heats those will run first and the number of riders that move on can be decided once sign ups close or at the riders meeting day of the race. Also, Saturday will be the backup day if Friday rains out since there might not be any official drags this year unfortunately from what I understand.
Post any questions you have about classes in this thread.

I'm also working on getting awards for these classes so bear with me if something doesn't go smoothly.

Never been to Trike fest but thinking about a last minute trip. Can I compete in 2 classes? I'm 50 with a 450 conversion. Can I do the conversion class and geriatric? I've never raced before but grew up riding 3 wheelers. Just got the conversion and only rode it once and never on an MX track which is what I'd like to do. Thanks!

You can run more than one class. I'll try to arrange the classes the night before or morning of the races so hopefully no one has to run back to back

Screw it- YOLO, I'm in. Geriatric class and conversion please. Riding a YZ-450F conversion. 50 years young. I'll most likely be by myself and a Trikefest virgin not knowing anyone so I'll help flag, record, whatever. Name is Todd Spencer, race # 44
