    cheap 200s brake shoes?

went to install the rear brakes this afternoon. old shoes had no lining left, new shoes popped in but the drum won't fit. double check the shoes, identical to the old shoes. drum fits without the shoes.
I've got the adjustment to the shoes are as close together as possible. going to hit the flat spot where the eccentric spreads the shoes with a flapper disc tomorrow to get the shoes to close a little bit more.
anyone ever have this issue? jim

The casting on the cheap China shoes suck , I only use them as a last resort if nothing else is available . Sometimes you can grind / cam side of the shoe to make them fit .
Stopping usually sucks as well .

Hey Jim is your drum clean? I have had some that had enough surface rust/pitting to keep the drum from sliding on over the shoes.
I was able to use a dremal with a sanding wheel, with the machine running on jackstands, and use it like a lathe, basically resurfacing the drum (cleaning it up) and then it fit fine.
Its last resort kinda thing but it worked.

took a little off the flat shoe and it slipped right on. adjusted the foot and hand brakes. all is good.
went and bought a Walmart yoga pad to build up the old seat foam, got a 24.99 seat cover off ebay. while the cover works. it's nothing like the hi flite kit I bought for my 185s. jim
