wasn't sure if it took a stock length chain so ordered 2 chains, air filter and a spark plug. if I can find a little time, I'll have it mobile in a short time. the hubs I ordered for the 200x project showed up, probably install them and the new tires on the back of this thing since the rear tires are cracking. jim

Yeah, but you get a year's worth of rain those two days.

parts arrived, took 2 links out of the chain to make it fit, the tensioner works fine on the bottom of the chain but the top of the chain comes close to the pivot point. got a bolt on air filter on it now. I can fill the carb with a tube and bottle and it starts right up, no smoke! next up install the tank and see I I can find fender brackets for the rear fender in my box of junk. Then try to figure out what to do about a seat. atcheaven shows the 185s pans in stock but I can't find a good way to attach foam or covers on it. jim

Cool. I picked up a full suspension 185S last month. Mine is a 1983. Cool story on it. Guy ordered it from Honda end of 82, and before he picked it up had THEM install the PK rear suspension kit and a set of Gateway Wooly Boggers on the back. Still there! Click image for larger version.

put the fenders and seat off my other 185s onto the suspended trike, China carb, found a hole in the original tank, so put a 200s tank on it, installed a air cleaner and chain and it runs great!. I picked up a pair of 200x hubs, going to swap the rear wheels and tires with a pair of dwc wheels and new rubber sitting in the shed. Talked to a guy that might have a extra seat pan for the 185s to compete this thing. jom

I have a whole build thread on my home made suspended 185s if you care to look through it. I tried to use as many factory oem parts as I could. Not finished making it pretty but its officially a bike i can take anywhere and beat on it without issues.

Nice trikes guys. So I need suspension but also have to keep the airbox. Or fab up a solution. I trail ride a lot in the summer and deep water is part of the fun for me. The machine I want to modify is a 200s I put together from parts. The frame is damaged a little in the rear from a previous owners wreck, but as long as decent chain tension is maintained it works fine. We have put quite a few miles on our 3 ATCs in the last few years. But my back is a wreck. Suspension would help a little but definitely won't alleviate the problem. After a day of riding I need a week to recover. Winter is here. Perfect time to fab up a suspension setup. Any suggestions! Tips, tricks?
    Take care and thanks
    Corey

if you need pics or measurements let me know, the latest frame might not get worked on for awhile if ever. I don't have plastics or a seat for it. I do have plastics, seat and tank for 1 of the 200s trikes so the 200s will get put back together next. not sure what's going to happen with the 185s trikes. jim

I had a full suspension 185s back in the late 80's. PK kit - It did pretty well but I remember having continual issues with the chain tensioner. Still, cool bike. I am in Phx, btw. Gotta love the dry bikes for sale out here.

Hey buddy. Can't find your original message specific to the question on the 200x carb on my 185s.
The carb bolts on with no mods. It's a stock engine with a cobra pipe and oem airbox with a k&n filter. Ended up running a 100 main and it's on the rich side, but runs well. Not a massive power upgrade, but I'm not a great carb tuner. New fender decals from ddr slapp.

Thanks! Glad it is a direct bolt-on. Very cool 185s, btw. I am wondering if anyone still makes rear suspension kits for 185s/200s. Are you still running 22inch rear tires?

I've got 20x11x9s on the back. Went up to a 12 on the front sprocket to account for the smaller diameter
