    1984 250r not running right

Just had the cylinder redone with a 71mm piston. The bike has the original carb PJ 34mm keihin. It has no bottom end and sputters on 1,2 & 3rd, Once I hit 4 & 5th it clears up but still not the same. I have the air on so removed the lid same thing. I've gone and down with jet same... I've also tried different carb PWK same issue. I thinking it might be crank seals. Any ideas???

My experience was bikes that need crank seals never idle right. The idle is either high, or erratic and all over the place. You may richen it and go ride and it is ok. Then a while later it behaves lean. It won't respond consistently to adjustments. How did it run before? Might be worth a compression check? The cylinder was bored and honed to size?

Guys, thank you for your replies. I will take some time to check everything out because this bike sat for a while, and it might be something simple. I think right now I'm just bumbling!!

Sounds like previous owner installed a different carb as original should be a PE30A
