    200es

Got a 84 200es that had water in the cylinder from guy leaving the spark plug out like a dummy and will need a new top end, rest of bike is in great shape. My ? is will a 250 top end fit on the 200es?

Not to my knowledge, have your cylinder bored out and get a matching piston, but it wont be 250cc.

I would just bore it, new piston, and take the valves out to make sure they are free in the guides and the seats are not rusty and pitted or get the head freshened up at a machine shop.

MrCondid is right. These are completely different engines and the top ends won't swap.

The cheap route is to buy one if these kits , you’ll have to make a cover /cap for the different style chain tensioner but otherwise it’s a bolt on kit .

Are you talking about the cam chain guides?

If you're referring to post 3#, then it's talking about the valve guides.

The aftermarket cylinder is universal, it needs a cover over the hole in the side of the cylinder .
Their are a few threads on this site were these cylinders were used .

Update, i got one of the ebay cylinder/piston kits and this is what i found.
Bore is 63.5mm compaired to the oem that is 65.00mm
New piston does not come to top of cylinder, is down 4.80mm down in bore on the new cylinder.
So this tells me it will be lower compression and less hp from factory.
How much difference will this make?

if its that far in the hole, I'd just look for a used cylinder, correct me if I'm wrong but a 200s cylinder might swap. jim

I have rebuilt a few motors using these kits as well as others on this forum, yes the piston is a little lower by about 4mm but their was no noticeable difference in power .
Also its a domed piston were the factory piston is dished so the compression is equal if not more than the factory piston .
