do you have a picture of the wiring diagram you can share here? Can help pinpoint the trouble. In the past I've seen bad switched that really just need corrosion and cobwebs cleaned out but you can check that with an ohm meter. Coils occasionally, but not usually on hondas. CDI's are fairly rare but they do go bad. Pinched/cut wires, bad grounds. I've seen wires that look great coming out of the engine but when you flex them the wrong way the bike would shut off so the strands were broken inside good insulation. That's a tough one to troubleshoot. Did you check the pulse coil ohms at the cdi? I've gotten bad plugs right out of the box. NGK's plugs I've referred to as NFG's. Probably had 20 hours into that one before I figured it out and I've gotten bad plug more than one in 30 years of doing this. Did you ohm out the coil with cap installed and no plug? I've seen bad caps before. Ohm to the primary it's probably 10K ohms but have to check the manual. Check everything, and even if it is in spec don't assume it's definitely good. It's probably good.

I'm thinking CDI now, no voltage from cdi to pri side of coil. After reading other posts a reviews about the china CDI's. The one i bought from amazon, people reply that the reverse light stayed on and CDI did not work. My reverse light stayed until i cut the gray wire. Ordered 2ea 5 pin CDI's that another poster says works with a square plug, we'll see.
