    Plastic tank failure

Has anyone ever had a Clarke tank just split open just sitting on a trike? Tank was a few years old. Has been stored inside since new. Never had fuel in it. Mounted it on the 350x. New petcock. Put about 1/2 tank gas in. Sat for about a week.. Ran the bike couple times buy didn't ride it. Took tank off yesterday to use on another startup. Found it has split front to back on the right side. Has anyone ever seen this happen? Anyway to fix it other than plastic welding?

Clark has had some issues with 3 wheeler tanks. There were lots of complaints about the tecate tanks when they first came put. The 2nd gen tanks have a big imperfection on the left side, too
Looking for a Bassani silencer for a 2nd gen tecate, the style with the movable mount. 1st gen will work

I haven't tried to fix mine yet. Using another one for now. I have a bil that loves to weld plastic. Probably gonna let him try.

I think I’m going to try the soldering gun method. I’ve used it on a plastic tractor tank the some bung hole drilled a hole in to drain the fuel. And it has held for acouple months now Click image for larger version.

I see this issue all the time , Yamaha tanks are the worst , I believe the issue is caused from todays Ethanol fuels .

I second that when they changed the diesel to low sulphur it caused all kinds of issues on older diesels and now the ethanol in the gas is screwing up all the old gas engines.
