    Some 250x engine in a 350x questions

    Looking at putting a 250x engine in a 350x. This is the old style 87ish 250x motor not the new shaft drive one. I know all the guys will say that you loose too much power doing this but am 1 350x engine short to finish my pile of builds. I have 6 350x's with 350 motors in or going in them. I have a complete 250x motor also. Liking that it will be easier to kick and really like the reverse. Had and rode a 250x years ago and think this will be a good fit for my 16 yo to train on before the 350. So what all do you have to modify? I know I will need a spacer for the upper rear motor mount. Plan to use complete 250x harness. Exhaust is my main concern. Anyone do this swap and can advise me on what I have to do to get exhaust to work?
    Trikes: Cagiva 200, 85? Tiger 250,(2)84 200x's , (3)86 200x's, 87 200x, (5)85 350x's, (2)86 350x's, (2)85 250r's, 86 Tecate, (3) 85 250sx's Restoring: 83 200x, 86 250sx. Too many utility trikes to list.

    I haven't heard of anyone wanting got do this (not that it means much). I would like to see a good write up and pictures though.

    I'm pretty sure I have extra set of engine mount spacers here yet. Motor mounts you will use 350x but the rear formed one needs formed backwards. DO NOT mill any cases.

    250x / 300ex COBRA or FMF header is all you can use since it's short. Than 400ex mufflers on the rear. LEXX makes a nice pipe for the money, I recently had sold mine off last week. I had stopped the built since there were builds 2 going at once. It became too much for the amount of time I had, which is only 2-3 hours a day with my daughter due to a job that keeps steeling my home life from me.

    I used most of it's parts on her future 300ex which you can see below and in the video. In which I have more parts left over and motor parts etc than I know what to do with yet if you will be needing parts. I did check I have the spacers for the frame here in a box.
