tightening 250sx front wheel to forks

Just wondering if there is a specific method when tightening the front axle to the forks on a 250sx. I have the OEM spacer, but it seems that for the wheel to not have side to side slop, I have to really crank in the axle. I feel like this is pulling the fork tubes into the hub rather than keeping them parallel. Any advice/knowledge would be great thanks.

I'm going to go with: your forks/ one or both are slightly bent. I'd loosen your fork clamps twist the chrome tubes a bit and try the axle again- I bet thats whats going on. Slight bend to forks up top will multiply the bend down by the axle. Of course i may be wrong but.......

That would make sense and ill try it. I have a buddy who says your supposed to ratchet strap the forks together when tighening the wheel. I feel this is deffenitly not correct haha

Probably. The ES came with 25x12-9 tires while the SX came with 22x11-8 tires.
