Yamaha YTM 200 ERN -does rack rub YAMAHA letters off or is it paint transfer?

Weak moment picked up this 85 YTM 200E, ERN variant with racks. See this a lot, the YAMAHA letters on end of seat get black line thru them. I can't tell if it is paint transfer from the rack or if the rack has rubbed part of the screened letters off? If it is paint transfer has anyone successfully gotten it off without taking the letters off as well? If so, what did you use/do. (First world problem, I know)

It’s probably rubbing through the letters. The letters are painted onto the seat cover and any sort of rubbing, or harsh cleaning is going to remove the white paint.

I think that's it. The rack rubbed through the screen printing. My sister used to do screen printing and said I could get the letters redone with vinyl ink.
