1986 250sx. Minimum components need to get spark
Working on a trike that I kicked to the side about 15 years ago. So starting from scratch. Engine has freshly built top end. Working thru the electrical. I need to test basic components before I start buying stuff. I know the key switch is bad. That is unplugged. Kicked over, no spark. So will it spark if the kill switch is also unplugged? I am trying to unhook anything I can to narrow down the problem. Does the neutral switch have to be connected and working for it to kickstart? I don't have a running bike with compatible cdi to test it. I will replace all the bad/questionable parts once it runs and I see the trans and rear end are good.
Trikes: Cagiva 200, 85? Tiger 250,(2)84 200x's , (3)86 200x's, 87 200x, (5)85 350x's, (2)86 350x's, (2)85 250r's, 86 Tecate, (3) 85 250sx's Restoring: 83 200x, 86 250sx. Too many utility trikes to list.
