    86-87 200X FRONT wheel issue / question

I have a 86 200x front hub and a OEM 86 front rim on my 200x...my wheel is off center and the correct axle spacers are in the correct locations.

Years ago I ran an aftermarket front rim with the same set up and i was centered. I confirmed all my spacers and axle are the same. What am I missing here? Maybe 86-87 200x from factory was kicked off to one side. Can someone confirm for me.

Check and see if the rotor lines up with the caliper , that will answer your question .
I definitely know the 86/87 hubs are a different offset than the 83-85 setup and take different spacers .
Honestly sounds like a spacer issue .

Pics are just for reference: brake side outer edge of rim to fork is 1-1/8 other is 7/8" rim to fork so tire is 1/4" off center. Measure'd 4 different 86's and there all the same. Shortline is correct as long as the caliper is lined up with the disc your good to go , if not u may have the wrong hub. If u need spacer measurements or whatever just ask.

THANKS. Yes my front rotor and disk line up. Just seem soooo stupid. I'll be going back to 1985 front set up and picking one up from my buddy.

THANKS. Yes my front rotor and disk line up. Just seems soooo stupid. I'll be going back to 1985 front set up and picking one up from my buddy. I had bought spacers and new axle bolt from ATC ATD...i do not know what model spacers they used to make new stainless one. Honda lists the same spacers to be used for 1st and 2nd gen 200x.

My rotor can not come over anymore or my studs will hit the fork legs. I for 900% sure know I have a 86 200x front hub with the two extra metal fins on. My wheel is my biggest question now because it looks like the mounting point needs to move over where the two bells join.

I'm down to Either I have 2nd gen 200x front him or 1985 350x rim...which Honda says is the same but now I have my reservations.

Ive done the 86 200x hub with a 10" front 250r rim before on a 1st gen 200x. Never had any issues. I can not take my caliper on or off if the rotor is bolted fast to the hub. That's makes me wonder if I have a 350x front rim? I do not have extra stuff laying around to confirm. That's why I'm so baffled.

I also have 9.5" between fork legs which another buddy had an 85 200x and confirmed that was correct thru text last night.

I have ruled out I do not have 3rd gen 250r front rim or hub.
    I have confirmed 900% i have one 1985 350X front rim and one 86 200x front hub

The rim is not the biggest thing in question.

I have 3.5" from rims lip edge to inside of bell (valve stem side)
I have 3.375" from rims lip edge to inside of bell (non valve stem side)

I do not want to sound like a negative Nancy but is there any chance that you could have a tweaked front fork or triple clamp?
I hope you don't but it seems like your other parts are correct.

I know he has new forks, i tried to google (just outa curiosity and I know he's working on 86 200x front) A 350x front end's pics last night i dont have one and the ones i found definitely werent centered like u think they would be. The caliper sides looked like there was more "room" like this pic Click image for larger version.

ID:	270196 (googled 350x pic) 250r maybe the same?
Someone go out to your garage or shed or livingroom to check? towards the top are they off center just a little bit/not alot a quarter inch or less. Just eyeball it top sides of tire to upper/middle fork.

Hope this post makes sense...... just curious

I have nos forks lol. I pulled them from the honda box. The rims the kicker I'm certain. Either way I need to know what I have. Even if does not work I can't sell somthing to someone saying it's this and is not. I know for 100% when I removed the caliper I currently have from a 1985 parts bike I sold I never had to take the rotor off. Honda has goofed before. I know this recently buying 300ex swinger bearing collars...had two of same parts both 100% different in oem bag lol. If I had 1 of every model par5 8n question I'd not ask for help. I just find it very funny if honda designed a front end not to be in center...very very unlikely in my mind.

I will have a full 85 200x hub rim and spacers in my hands in 16hrs...sadly no 350x parts are left and I just bought this 86 200x to fix my 1st problem of wheel spacers not working....$170 later nothing fixed yet but my income...

Just checked three 85 200xs and two 81 250rs. Everything has whatever the rims thicknesses is...that's how much it's offset on calipers side

Just reading this post. I ran into this on my 86 350x. Looking towards the centre of the hub is there a 1 or 2 showing? The 86 200x and 350x look the same but have different offsets. But share the same front rim.

I will check tonight. I did buy an 86 front hub with the metal wing tabs on the hub so it only goes into the wheel 1 way. That's what was showing 1/2" off center.

I hear ya. Both 86 hubs have the wing tabs. Just different off sets on the hub.

1st two photos are what I was under the impression was 350X. There are no casting marking numbers on it.

2nd two photos are what I was under the impression was 2nd gen 200x (that's what the eBay listing and multiple others matched) There is 1 casting marking that looks like a 7 to me

Last photo is the what I believe to be 2nd gen 200x front hub on left, 350x on right. Both of these fit into my 350X rim, so only other hub one could be is 3rd gen 250R. I'd really like to get hard confirmation all the rims are same geometry. (meaning in / out dimensions of the bells)

My fall back is run the 85 set up I have for 200x.

Anyone want to confirm I have what I really think I have?

I found my 86 hubs. I took a photo of each to help where and what each number looks like. The 1 represents a 86 200x front hub. The 2 (red) represents 86 350x front hub.
