    went to the swap meet this morning. guy has 2 85 250r sitting on a trailer. 1750 each or 3000 for both. I'm on a short time leash, so couldn't really get both and drive them back amd forth to the house
    so I decided I wanted the more correct trike, swapped the rear plastic (oem) because it only had a seat, its got the tool box, correct 85 headlight etc. and just bought this one. loaded up, grabbed the wife and went to meet the kids. I've got the guys number and might get the 2md one if it's available maybe Sunday. trike 2 had 2 flats, 86 headlight that's cracked no rear fender, missing radiator cap and no coolant.
    mine has a cap and green coolant
    hopefully add gas and start it.
    but I still need to get the 350x running.
    both have compression. jim

    it's alive! cleaned the carb and it started right up! petcock doesn't even leak. Yes I remembered to add 2 stroke oil!.
    I'm hf tempted to call and see if trike number 2 is still available. jim

    I don't go to casinos, but the 2 guys asked how the trike ran when we were loading it. I said I bougjt it as is not running. both was amazed I'd pay that kind of money for a trike that I couldn't see running. It's got compression, it's complete, a person probably couldn't fail too badly. jim

    messaged the seller tonight
    trike no.2 is still available. headlight glass is cracked, no rear fender, at least 1 flat tire. has compression, air box grab bar, stock tank. I got lucky with this one, I'm wondering if I should take a chance on no.2????. jim

    wow... what a great score! Those would have sold in under 2 hours in my area. You can't even find 1st gen Rs at those prices anywhere near me.

    plan is to go get a title for the trike tomorrow. if it goes as planned, I texted the seller about the 2nd trike. it's missing the rear fender and no antifreeze or radiator cap. I'm hoping to Maybe buy it as long as I get the title done on the 1st trike. I bought the air filter last night for just under 1600 for a running complete 85 R is decent. I did ask about extra parts because between the 2 85s there's a 86 carb, rear fender, headlight. I'm thinking there might be a 86 parts bike sitting in the garage. jim

    Once the ratty bike gets some attention on eBay, he will soon be kicking himself for letting the nice one go for $1,600.

    got the trike loaded up in the truck, actually putted it down the street and it runs great! But it's loaded up and heading to the motor vehicle tomorrow to get a title. jim

    Unmolested 250R's are impossible to find where I live. All are either complete junk or restored and 3 times the price that they should be.

    went and got the trike titled!perm plates, OHV sticker and bonded title ran 43 bucks and 50 bucks for the bond. I'm going to text the seller and just give him a heads up that I'd take trike 2 for 1400 bucks Saturday if he wants to let it go and not hassle with ebay, shipping etc. jim
