They’re definitely fun I’ve had an 86 tecate I’d like to find an 86 250r but the prices are insane here. I’m packing up and moving to Tennessee. Done with Arizona it’s been taken over by the Californians.

    Good luck with that.

There's no where to run......we are everywhere. We are like the Borg.... resistance is futile. We will eventually assimilate every city.... everywhere we go.

Been to Memphis lately? Well on its way to a San Francisco next. Austin tambien.

    It's a shame.

Good luck with your move....hope it all goes smoothly.

We were there last month and we almost stopped there. No interruption at all. Yeah it’s not home anymore it’s sad.

The manual shows holes in the rotor to access the timing adjustment screws. Maybe you have the wrong rotor installed?
For some reason I completely missed the first part you wrote. It is supposed to have a mark on the case

I guarantee phoenix is worse. We’re not moving anywhere near Memphis. We’re going to a small town.

Ok, I see that they reference a timing mark, on the case, in the picture, but I don't see where they reference using that timing mark as part of the "setting the timing" procedure. All the manual talks about is aligning the timing marks on the rotor and stator plate.

But I do agree, that your case looks different, forward of the wire grommet, than the one in the manual.

It’s confusing for sure. This z has been odd since I bought it years ago. It doesn’t have any numbers on the case so it’s been replaced at some point. It doesn’t have the 6speed either. I’ve had no luck finding a 6 speed for it.

No offense buddy, but it certainly is starting to look like the main export of California is assholes. They are running away from the progressive policies they voted for, and then, as soon as they get into red country, they realize they don’t necessarily like everything about it, and think they should “improve it”. The irony is astounding. Maybe you’ll get lucky and all the assholes will be gone soon and you’ll have a chance to enjoy the place the way you should be able to one day.

No numbers on the cases at all? There should be some right next to the shifter shaft, as well as the serial number close to the Kickstarter. If that one has been removed, I can’t think of a legal reason for it.

As far as your top and break up is concerned, I would check your plug and if it looks a little on the Darkside go down a size and see if that helps. Another possibility is your reeds.

I’ll put a picture of it when I get home. I dropped the jet from a 165 to a 155 it was pretty black. Haven’t done a pull with it yet. Has new carbon fiber reeds in it. Didn’t feel much of a difference with them vs the stock yz ones. Wish they made v force reeds for this year yz.

It has the 5x503 by the shifter but the right side has nothing.

Well, that’s a first for me. I wonder if those are replacement cases back in the day?

I’m sure they are. I’m betting someone on here has the matching number engine or pieces from my z.
