it would be eaiser to run a shorter stroke and a longer rod(which wears out way slower that the piston) than resleaving it and havin to use a 1 off piston or somethinhg like that when you could still use all the other stock syle rings n pistons which wear out faster then the rod......thus saving money in the long run..

ahh, i see the light. makes sense, the angle on the rod is less so the piston has less side to side forc e on it. would be better to destroke then.

Blasters are 6 speeds,as far as the vitos kit is a waste the porting is just like stock on the vitos set up and the gains are minimal.places like cp customs can just port your top end and get * in a tri z hp range easily throw some good porting on a 240 big bore from the same place and ud have a monster.

theres quite a few places that offer nasty set ups for the blaster.

Hey Derrick, I found this blaster site full of info. It's full of a bunch of kids bitching at each other too but the info is there.

    My opinion.
Just race with a Blaster or chop the front end off and weld a 3-wheeler front end on it before you "ruin" an TRI-Z.

You won't be able to make a race worthy trike by "chopping" the front of a blaster and installing forks. Never has and never will happen.

How is he going to ruin a Tri-Z by installing a different motor? Worst case would be different motor mounts. It's not like he'd be "chopping" the thing up.

Ok, you got me with both of those. I know converting a Blaster to a 3-wheeler isn't a feasable thing to do. And just bolting a different engine in a TRI-Z doesn't sound bad, but Id still just race the Blaster or use a 350X. I think you'll be quicker with a Blaster on a track than a Blaster powered TRI-Z. The Blaster kicks backward too so you have to watch the fender
A Blaster engine in a TRI-Z just doesn't sound appealing to me, don't know why. But I guess if that's your thing then go for it.

Now that is just awesome! There is your TRI-Z motor right there!
Has anyone put a TRI-Z motor in a Blaster? I bet that would be quite the upgrade if you're into Blasters.

The guy I bought my Tri-Z roller off of has one. That's how I got the roller. He took the engine out and installed it in his Blaster.

    This project is still on...

On the back burner till the 500 is done, but I have some fresh ideas today!

Small bore MX sounds like a better idea than flat track, besides Andrew is going to need some competition!

A destroked motor will be significantly different from stock in power delivery. Deboring is the best way to go, and is what yamaha did for their support riders in the 200 class. If you want to get radical ,another option is to overbore a yz 125 engine. I had one of each of these years ago , when i was under age to run 250s at aatva events. The 125 motor was really good for flat track ( consistent high rpm) while the debored 200 was better all around. There wasnt as much difference in usable power between a modified 200 and a modified 250 as many people would think. Good luck.
