Rode a V-Force 700

I used to dislike it....until I rode one that is! A friend of mine up in NY brought it over for my graduation party. My grandparents live on a long dirt road so there was plenty of time to top out.

The only thing I could tell that was done to it, was that it had a full Muzzy exhaust system and mabey an air filter. Well...I pulled out into the road and punched it. Up came the front wheels and I almost lost it :o After I got up to around 25mph, I nailed the throttle again and off I went like a rocket!! This thing just kept pulling and pulling and pulling! I couldnt believe the power it had. Im guessing I had it topped out at about 75mph or so. Everything was just a blur

The only thing I didnt like about it, was that its too tall (or the XCT's hooked up so well) because donuts were impossible unless you were literally sitting on the footpegs, Or if you were standing up with your weight over the bars.

And suprisingly...I actually liked the CVT tranny. I would prefer a manual anyday, but the CVT was not bad at all. A kit for it would make it much better though.

I have raced a couple at little sahara on my old 250r. They are damn fast. Problem is everyone puts cheap paddles on them and a machine that big needs good paddles. They are damn quick for a big machine. Everyone I have talked to that owns one just loves it.

When I still had my 400EX I went riding with a guy I know who has a V-Force. My 400 had a White Brothers full system, K&N air filter and jetted with no air box. He was bone stock. We never raced but I rode it and it didn't seem all that fast. I'm sure he would have beat my 400 but it didn't really feel like it was that fast. Since then he changed the clutch springs, full exhaust sytem and sent the engine out to be built. It has cams, big bore and porting. I haven't seen it since but suposedly it dyno over 70 horse at the motor. I'm sure the belt/shaft drive absorb some of that plus he pulls a lot of weight around. Still bad ass I'm sure.

Those things are freaking powerful. Heck, any big bore V-force engine is powerful.

my best riding buddy has one.. and i chewed him up on my trx's and my yfz.. but it was close,, they are VERY top heavy and ride like a cadilac.,. that is for sure,. my buddy went thru many quads, now he is getting lazy so its the perfect quad for him!!

I dragged a few v-force's before and there fast but iam faster. Stock for stock we were about even but it no matter what i would always catch up top end and slowly pass them. Now iam modded so there really no challenge any more. iam jetted with alba full exhaust k&n web cam stage 1 rev box. So iam pretty quick

Aside from being fast, I dont think the 700 has much going for it as a sport quad. It rides and handles like utility, and very top heavy. If you want a utility that looks like a sport quad, this is for you. If you want a sport quad, you will be very disappointed the way it handles.

Kawasaki's Brute Force

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Kawasaki Motors has recalled about 155,000 all-terrain vehicles due to possible steering control problems, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.

Consumers should stop using the recalled vehicles -- Kawasaki's Prairie and Brute Force ATVs, model years 2001-2005 -- immediately, the consumer safety group said in a statement, and contact an authorized Kawasaki ATV dealer to arrange for a free repair.

Registered owners will be notified directly by Kawasaki about the recall, the CPSC said.

A significant impact to the front tire while the steering wheel is fully turned either way can result in suspension damage and an eventual loss of steering control that the Commission said could result in injury or death.

Forty-two reports of ball joint separation and three injuries have been reported to the CPSC.

Kawasaki previously recalled the Prairie 700 4x4 in March 2005 because the age recommendation warning label was missing, according to the statement.

The following Kawasaki ATV models are included in the recall: Prairie 300, Prairie 300 4x4, Prairie 360, Prairie 360 4x4, Prairie 400, Prairie 400 4x4, Prairie 650 4x4, Prairie 700 4x4 and Brute Force 650 4x4.

They were sold at Kawasaki dealers nationwide from August 2000 through July 2005 for $4,400 to $7,400.

The model numbers can be found on the identification label located on the frame of the ATV. "Prairie" or "Brute Force" is printed on each side of the vehicle's gas tank.
