Thanks guys I think i'm gonna actually leave her a stocker for a while till she needs to be changed. I rode her hard today and absolutely no problems. I also changed the handle bars out and put my renthals on that I had on my r......Chris
A big jump in performance would be a K/N filter @ a slip on Pro Curcuit mufler or Super Trap.Rejet carb to 152/155 ,42 pilot and drop needle 4th setting. Get yourself a AC nerf bars and front bumper. We have two with this setup and it made a big difference. We change front sprocket to a 14 (from a 15). we have lots of hilly woods riding.
Cool man sounds like some good info there thanks....How does the ex do with the smaller front sprocket mine sure seems to wrap out quick with the stock gearing but from what I hear that is normal for them.....I do have some BLING!!!!!!!!! on the way...lol picked up a new set of stainless scoops off ebay and have my eye on some other stuff.....Chris
Here's a pic of her with the renthals on .....I think they look good with the low bars on them.....Chris
Nice bike but it would look better in RED. HAHA
I had the RIGHT to remain silent, I didn't have the ability!
Yeah I love the 400ex. The low bars do look stellar. Lets see some riding pics.

If you are riding in open terrain and seldom use 1st gear, stock gearing is fine. We ride tight woods trails and use the lower gears alot. thats the reason for the 14 tooth sprocket. It's easier on the clutch also, you don't slip it as often.
