    Polaris 340 SSR Snowmobile?

Its a polaris 340 at least and I think it said SSR. Not sure of the year but my uncle has it and asked me if I wanted it. My question is that I heard a rumor Polaris actually made good running snowmobiles is this true? And does anyone have any feedback on them?

polaris specializes in sleds, from what ive seen they arent bad, its a matter of preference almost all sleds are as good as the others, i prefer Cats

Check out this Yamaha SSR. This thing is the baddest sled I have ever seen. It was on ebay. It would bring huge money. I have been told they only made 100 of these sleds. 104hp stock thats insane.

Its not a colt. i had a little trouble with this well. It is a SS 340. The Colt SS 340 was different looking. It took a while but I finally found a website or 2 that has My SS 340 listed.

Ok this weekend I want to get my Polaris 1978 SS 340 going and I'm not sure what to check before hand. It has sat for alot of years so do these have oil in the cases and anywhere else (my sno-runner doesnt so dont laugh), The track didnt slide when I pulled it so should I take a look at the rollers or whatever they are, and what oils should I use? Obviously I'm a noob to sleds so if there is anything else, help would be appreciated.

I would do the obvious first. Change the plugs, fresh gas, new fuel filter, yes they have oil in the crank case just like most of the other 2 strokes, so get new case oil (i used klotz i think), new plugs. Usually we clean our carbs once a year. Having them sit that long with gas in the carbs makes an awful mess. As for the track not moving. Could be anything. Could be from sitting for a long time. That happened to me once so I jumped up and down on the seat to loosing everything up. I would get under there with some kind of lube and lube up all the rollers and such. Seemed to work for me.
