What other hubs fit 86-87 tecate axle?

I am looking for rear hubs with a more universal bolt pattern like the 24 spline 4/100 Yamaha blaster, tri z, ect.

What 24 spline rear hubs fit the KXT250B axle?

Is spline count and fit universal between OEM manufacturers?

(My project needs 8" rims!)

ATC200X hubs fit from what I've read and Durablue once made smaller hubs with the 4/100 84 Tecate bolt pattern.

I have 200x rear hubs on my 86 Tecate.

83-85 are the same and 86-87 are the same. I actually think that the 86-87 models could be the same as a 250X-300EX quad.

Jeb, The splines are the same on all years of the 200x. The splines are also the same as These Honda's 70, 90, 11, 125m, 185, 185s, 200, 200e, 200es, 200m, 200s, 200x, and more. So you have a wide range of hubs to use on them.

Yeah, I should have known i guess. I tried the 85 250R hubs on the 86 KXT axle one time. They slid on, but were too loose.

I hate to take the 70 apart unless I have to so I've never taken the hubs off my 70. Been on since it was built. Of course, I recently split 2 of the rims and swapped the OEM front tire to the back and put a brand new tire on the front. The rims came right apart and the seal rings were still in perfect shape. The threaded parts of the bolts that held the rims together were shiny like brand new when I disassembled them. The 70's been taken care of so the hubs ought to come right off.

I've never taken the hubs off my Tri-Z either. So I've never tried them on the 86 KXT because I've never heard of anyone saying Banshee hubs will work on a Tecate. I do know that the front hubs will totally interchange between an 85 R and 85 Z. Wonder if the 85 R rear hubs will work on the 85 Z axle? It would save me some work if anyone knows if a Banshee wheel hub will fit an 85-89 250R axle? Probably not. And I know "Z" on "R" is not the question this post is for! :

Modified 85-86 Suzuki LT250R hubs to fit by grinding down the splines with a die grinder and 1" bit. I just removed a portion of splines on the I.D. that corresponds to the area of the axle that is smooth where the splines end.

This means lots of 24 spline Suzuki stuff fits. The fit is not tight but it is no more loose than on my 89 Quadracer. It will work for me.
The hub pattern is 4/130 unfortunately, but I have douglas dual bolt pattern rims 4/110 and 4/130.

(Yamaha hubs fit but are a bit loose too. I tried Blaster but area of spline engagement is too small on those. I think other Yamahas would work though.)

Yamaha stuff is too loose

YFZ450 hubs slide on OK but there is a bit to much backlash for my liking.

Why don't you just fit KFX700 rims on it, don't they have 4x156 bolt patterns on the rims

Yeah the whole point of swapping to smaller hubs is to run 8inch wheels which the 4/156 bolt pattern doesn't allow.

Ok, I didn't notice in the thread where he specified that he wanted to run 8" rims.

I realise that 8" rims are all the rage for MX nowdays, but back when the 86 Tecate was released it was considered to be at the cutting edge to have ten inch rims fitted to a race machine.

I know that you don't get the same ride comfort out of tens that you get on eights but (tens) give you more precise cornering feel, as a tyre/wheel combo they are lighter, and they look tough.

There are still tyres out there in 10" sizes and I know would run nothing less than a 10" rim for flat track racing on my quad.

To top it all off, I think those 18" fast trekkers on 10" Tecate rims look awsome.....

I suppose I am just missing the point about running 8" rims on a Three wheeler that came with tens as standard?

Oh I agree for hardcore MX 10's handle great but you run the risk of flats and dented rims when you trail ride with them. As you know most aluminum rims will break before they bend, so running an 8 with 20 inch tires gives you some sidewall to take the abuse. I run a 9 on a 20 inch tire and have yet to have a flat or seriously ding the rim. My tens are wrapped with big mud tires.
