would an axel from a 200M fit the 200s? i got it all appart right now.. my 200s carrier bearrings are garbage. i picked up a parts 200m and it has a good straight solid axel+ carrier, so id like to swap it out..
Will a 185 rear plastic fit a 200?
burnin rubber
I know the 200 S model didn`t start till 84, I have an 83 and it`s just called the atc 200. And for wheelz the rear plastics on mine are the two piece in 84 they are one piece on the 200 S I think so It depends on the year I guess not so much the model and if one piece or two seperate sides. Hope that helps some.
Never forget the past , but dont dwell on it.

Headlight ring is the same part number for ATC200 (81-83) and 200E and FL250 81-84. Most of those machines have the same part number for the bucket too, so I suspect the headlight as a whole unit would be interchangable on them. The ring is slightly different than the 200ES, but am pretty sure as a whole unit they swap between each other as well.
Ignition switch is the same for the 200E, ES, M (84 only) and 125M (84 only)
Of what I have seen so far, all or nearly all 200 series heads interchange, same should be true for the cyl. 200x was higher compression, longer stroke or something so it could be an upgrade for nearly any 200 from my understanding (i know 100% it is true for the 200s).
Tool box lid (trunk) is the same part number for all 200 big reds and 200m, so the tool box might interchange between models too, but talk light brackets and such might be different.
I think most of the bottom ends are the same for chain vs shaft drive. Even heard a chain drive can be converted to shaft drive with the right parts, unconfirmed though. The exception to this is the 200x since the brake lever is mounted on the engine and overall the bottom end is quite a lot different looking, and it being the only one that is kick start.
I'm sure there are tons more things in common between the machines, but that is everything I can think of off hand.
Old thread to dredge up, but will 200s forks fit a 200es. I’d want to use ES fender, wheel, brake and axle, and switch out handle bar clamp for my neutral and reverse light. Headlamp brackets appear different but I can weld the tabs on, just my ES are seized and I believe that means they’re toast?
Also will 200s rear fenders fit a big red 290ES and also are the exhaust cans the same? Oh, and the CDI and keyed ignition?
Many thanks
Nope on everything ! Forks are much small on the 200s

Good to know before I buy all those bits, thank you. Is it possible to rebuild the 200es forks, or best to weld them up rigid?
The 200S didn't have a factory ignition switch. If you mod the wiring for it, it will function the same though, black and green wires are for the kill side of the ignition switch. The other two wires are for the lights/battery power, but since the 200S wasn't designed for a battery, it would take some pretty major rewiring to make the lights go on/off with the ignition switch. Mounting the ignition switch would be a task for you to figure out though, I don't have the research done for that yet.
What year is your 200S? If the connector matches the basic function of the CDI's should interchange file. The 200ES does have a safety system built into the CDI while the 84-85 200S one doesn't, so some mods would be required to the wiring to trick the safety system in the 200ES CDI.
Here's the stock marking for the two CDI's
84 200ES - CI-42 (969)
84-85 200S (and several others) - CF433 (968)
You can also make this CDI work too, but requires replacing the plug on your harness or running an adapter.
81-83 ATC200 (and several others 83 and older) - CI-08
On the front end questions, it might be possible to swap the whole front end if the neck of the frame is the same height and size around for the bearings. I don't know if those two exact models match up or not though. Sometimes there's some mods needed for the steering stopper too.
So short answer as you've already gotten above, nope nothing interchanges, but with some work/mods atleast some does.

The 84 ATC200ES was the most common/sold machine out of them all, however the front forks being bad is very common. There's a front end swap that's pretty common to do, but I can't recall which machine the front end comes from, maybe like an atc200m? I just remember it was the style with more normal shocks.
One idea is to disassemble and inspect all parts. If the springs are okay and fork sliders aren’t pitted too bad, you might be fine.
How would I power accessories for my 83 200
The ATC200 generates around 50w AC power unregulated (lights normally use 100% of the energy generated while on). Regulator/rectifier tied to the stator wiring and put the output to a battery for charging for smooth power delivery, and you have pretty clean 12v dc power. Hondaline had a kit that did this but it was very uncommon for people to buy since it's a fairly expensive setup and you get a battery but still no electric start and the charging system doesn't really work while the lights are on since all of the power goes to the lights.
