I have an 83R and was wondering how much of a performance boost an aftermarket pipe gives you and is it worth getting one? If so, what pipe would you recomend? Thanks.

i would say it is worth it, my pipe definetly woke my air fooler up and sounds damm cool now also, Not to mention how much heavier the old setup was. however dg is the only option as far as new pipes go, you can ask around the boards or keep your eyes peeled on ebay. i picked up a very clean ct pipe from a board member so just look around. unless you dont have a problem with the dg, ive heard many mixed reviews on those pipes

Dosent FMF also make one still or only for the 85/86?

I don't know if FMF makes one for an air fooler or not but you could always buy one for an 85/86 and then buy an 85 or 86 250R that'll fit the pipe.Originally Posted by Yamaha Tri-Moto

fmf only makes one for the 85/86 water cooled models. dg is the only way to go as far as new pipes. id search for another brand here or on ebay personaly
