Other smaller or lesser known companies, such as Tiger ATV, Franks, and Cagiva, produced racing three wheelers, but in much smaller numbers. Few of these machines are known to exist today and are highly sought by collectors.

I heard the same story too....but it wasn't a 4 stroke...it was the ATC500R 2 stroke. There's even part #'s for the 500R 2 smoke. Was Curtis Sparks even around back then?? Nice custom build but gotta call BS on this 1.

I wish it were mine, fake or not! I bet it's a bad mofo!
It's not so funny MEOW, is it?
I like the part "according to the story, the other 2 frames were destroyed".
Granted, it's a nice 500 BUT Honda did not make a pre-production 500. Now, what people have to understand is back in the day at the tracks, you would have individuals bring machines like this to the track in hopes that the major manufacturers would jump on it. They were all for people coming up with new ideas, that's how the 2 strokes popped up and racing started. Now, if the guy said it was a 2 stroke 125, that's another story.
Honda didn't make a pre-production 4-stroke 500 but they did make a 500R. Mike Coe talks about it in the thread in Trikesylvania.
The pic I posted earlier was a 84 Honda XR500R. Motor looked identical to this one.

read it again,,,,,, its a 200X FRONT WHEEL AND HUB,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I AM sure its a combination of parts,,, it could also be a 83-84 250r wheel and hub,,,Originally Posted by Bigbore
Maybe the peg mounts were a Nick Nicholson mod .....for his later version of the 500 frame
What I'm saying is Basically the first version was with (The rigid pegs) as one member said, 82 250r front and 185 tank and 185 rear plastics
Make sense that the last gasp version of this trike be modded with whats pictured...as in
Bumping up to 200x mods which weren't around in its original conception
if it is the one pictured in the mag then its valueable............ but how could it be authenticated
so it looks real ligit....problem is, that as many as 100 frames were made. and if you were in possesion of a frame the trike pictured could be easily reproduced...
myself owning 1 frame, I know of at least 1 other person who owns one besides this seller.....so thats 3 right there so he must be refering to 3 production models as in the version he's selling
I have heard of the many stories of the nicholson 500 group who rode buttercup back in the day....their were six members if memory serves me right but have forgotten all the Names of the members.....time to drop a dime

Well im sure this trike will give you ideas on some nice new projects. Its a nice looking ride but if you have the frame and swinger you could get the parts to make it look like the one on E-Bay. Then throw in a good story and sell it for $46,394

Here are some pics. I had to use the camara, scanner was busy.
I know the one of the Kawasaki isn't the Nicholson 500 just thought you guys would like to see it.
And yes, I know this is a GEN-2 Nicholson 500, the GEN-1 used donor 185s parts. The GEN-1's didn't nearly as good as this one.

Looks like Honda Factory Team Racer (The Messiah and My Hero) has made contact with the seller......wonder who tipped him off
