Almost a year old thread here, but just wanted to give it the bump. Too all 200x owners, this thread is a godsend, including the CR85 rear M/C and front caliper swap to the back of my X that I just did.

I've simplified the thread a bit so you dont have to go through 75 other posts...

    1. 2000 kx80 REAR caliper is a direct bolt on to the 200x FRONT using a 200x bracket.
    2. 2003 cr85 FRONT caliper is a direct bolt on to the 200x REAR using a 200x bracket.
    3. 2006 CR80 FRONT caliper is a direct bolt on to the 200x REAR using a 200x bracket.
    4. 2002 CR80 FRONT Master Cylinder is a direct bolt on to the 200X FRONT
    5. 1998-2006 CR80/CR85 REAR master cylinder is a bolt on to the 200x, though it requires two .375 spacers and also for you to drill out two holes. (see post 21/22)

I highly recommend reading the whole thread. There are MANY more applicable years makes and models for these swaps than the specific years listed in the post above. We dont want people searching for a single specific year of part when a nearly 20 year range of parts will work.

The years posted are what was listed in the thread only. Anyone can go to a site such as partzilla.com and match part numbers to other years. Actually I just did that to make it easier.

The cr80/85 front caliper that fits the 200x rear using a mounting bracket will work from the years 1995-2007, as they all have the same part #.

The front master cylinder swap mentioned in on of the earlier posts that was an '02 cr80 M/C also applies to the following bikes/years. 1998-2007 CR80/85 and 2007-2012 CR150F for the same reason listed above. Now this gets a bit tricky because many master cylinders from any bike/atv/manufacturer/year on the front should work, as long as the handlebars are the same size. Very hard to keep track of how many of these swaps for front M/C's there are, so I just left the CONFIRMED only ones in the list.

The cr80/85 rear master cylinder swap (needing M/C holes drilled out and 3/8" spacers) will work from 1996-2007.

Post #4 of this thread clarified that the 1987-2007 kx80 calipers are the same in design but not in part number, so that expands the possibilities

So, heres a modified confirmed list that coincides with the list located post #76.

    1. 1987-2007 kx80 REAR caliper is a direct bolt on to the 200x FRONT using a 200x bracket.
    2. 1996-2007 cr80 or cr85 FRONT caliper is a direct bolt on to the 200x REAR using a 200x bracket.
    3. 1998-2007 CR80/85 and 2007-2012 CR150F FRONT Master Cylinder is a direct bolt on to the 200X FRONT
    4. 1998-2006 CR80/CR85 REAR master cylinder is a bolt on to the 200x, though it requires two .375 spacers and also for you to drill out two holes. (see post 21/22)
    5. 2003-2006 KFX400: REAR master cylinder swaps to 200x with a similar modification to the CR85.
    6. 2003-2008 LT-z400: REAR master cylinder swaps to 200x with a similar modification to the CR85.

DOHC if you have had some stuff work of the bolt-on variety, or anyone else for that matter, feel free to copy n paste then edit this list and include it if you post again, that way it will be as updated as possible.

Just trying to help the 200x owner that wants to update 30+ year old brakes (me included!!)

EDIT: To add to the list, I found this thread: http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthr...+cylinder+swap.... meaning that the 2003-2006 ( I checked part #'s) KFX400 rear master cylinder will work in a similar modification to the CR85 master cylinder. This swap also applied to the Suzuki LT-Z400/400Z according to the OP, and the same part # is from 2003 to 2008. List has been modified accordingly.

As noted in the thread when reading all of it, the part numbers change over the years due to very small changes that wont affect the swapability. Not everybody knows how to reference part numbers rheese. You are good at it, so it seems easy to you. Your post above is a huge clarification and in my opinion communicates your initial goal much better so thank you.

My first post was a bit rushed so I didnt get all of the information in there, thanks for bringin it to my attention. I wish this whole thread could be moved over to trikesylvania. I may start a new thread there with the summarized info here.

I second the motion to move to TV.

This thread is several years old and gets referenced quite a bit like the Tecate interchange thread. They should both be stickied as well as the seat recover tutorials and a few other jewels I can think of.

Maybe we we could have an Interchange or Tutorials subforum for one stop shopping. JMO.

Very funny you say that. I was thinking about this thread today and I thought "we need a common parts interchange subforum..."
I'll get in contact with billy and we'll see how it goes from there.

I just bought everything to do this conversion on my 200x. Thanks to everyone before me who figured this out, it saved me a lot of grief! There is one thing that I'd like to add however.

The KX80 rear master can be used if a simple bracket is made. The fluid inlet comes in at an angle, so it can't bolt directly to the frame. I went this route because I bought the whole rear brake setup for $25, and the whole front CR80 setup for $30. For some reason the pictures won't upload, I will add them later when I have more patience.

Really good Info here. Does anyone know of any brake lines [front and rear] from other bikes that will fit onto the 1984 200X

Yep, just buy stainless braided ones off ebay new. Anything will fit due to 10mm bangis its just the lengths are longer for all other bikes. OEM lines are junk anyway after 30 years, they swell but stainless wont. What and pick the color you want wait a week install go ride.

    EDIT!

I stumbled onto a list of 100% interchanges, but they dont say front vs back, but one or the other WILL fit, so I guess look at photos and compair before buying . I'll work on verifying front vs rear vs both in time.

I think this list only included ATVs, since we already know some motor cycles fit and this list has none.

Is this a list of caliper exchanges for the 200x or only for brake pads? Im really stuck trying to finding a front brake caliper for my 200x, it has a 250R fork swap but i think the brakes are the same caliper and mount. Ive looked everywhere for the KX caliper, none over here in Australia or ebay etc, i just want brakes, can modify to some degree if necessary. I found a yfm660 caliper that is quite similar to the 200x caliper but the banjo is in a different spot, has anyone tried this mod, i just want brakes LOL
